I think it’s really, really hard for people who haven’t been abused or traumatized to imagine what that feels like, and so we currently live in a world where traumatized people are continually re-traumatized by those of us who would rather throw a fit about something like “trigger warnings” than take the time to try to fully understand what it is that is being asked for, and why.
