"White supremacy" has been with us for a long time; it is hardly a buzzword. I also think this assessment might not be correct. Data has shown that the current wave of Black Lives Matter protests might be the largest protest movement in US history. There's a lot of momentum there. Yes, there will always be people who are easily offended by words (and who defensively cling to the concepts those words represent), but those people are no longer the ones setting the tone of the conversation, particularly in the younger generations.
