Yes, but if we let “business” grow as big as it wants, it tends to grow into exponential wealth and swallow the possibility for anything else (for instance, failing to stop using fossil fuels even when we know they’re killing the planet).

This is what I mean by “cult of capitalism.” I’m talking about what happens when valuing the ideas of competition and hierarchy edges out our capacity to value empathy and all the other things that can help us temper their effects.
